Come join us for a trip through time! The Castle Museum bring you to the times of the Lords of Krumlov, Rosenbergs and other noble houses residing in Český Krumlov over the centuries and transforming its appearance. You can see a number of precious artifacts from the Castle depositories and you can see films from the beginning of the 20th century in the cinema.

A place for education and relaxation
The ground floor of the Museum will house a place for refreshment, a study room for researchers, a space for educational activities and a welcome center. The Castle Museum will also offer its visitors a fresh view over the whole town of Český Krumlov. It will become a place for not only education but also for relaxation.
Enter a museum from the 19th century
The actual museum exhibit will be located on the first floor. The exhibit will be in the style of a historical 19th century museum. The interiors will be furnished with historical lights, restored Dutch stoves and replicas of old museum exhibition boxes.
The complete castle history presented for the first time
The history of the Krumlov castle and the noble families residing in Český Krumlov over the centuries, namely the the Rosenbergs, Eggenbergs and Schwarzenbergs will be presented in the first two rooms. Some very precious artifacts from the Castle depositories will be on display – for example the Schwarzenberg guard collection, artifacts from the mint or the armoury. Visitors can also view a model of Český Krumlov Castle as it was in the middle of 16th century.
Visitors will take a peek into the flat and office of a lord’s servant in the 19th century
The next few rooms will feature an installation of a flat belonging to the director of administration of the Schwarzenberg dominion and his office which was actually really located here in the beginning of 19th century. We have adhered to the original set-up of the rooms and also for example to the colours on the walls.
Fragment of a shrine with the skeleton of a Saint
Ecclesiastical relics from the Český Krumlov Castle depository will also be on display in the Castle Museum. A fragment of a Baroque shrine with the skeleton of St. Reparatus from the former Minorite Monastery in Český Krumlov is set to become one of the main museum attractions.
Showing of previously hidden Schwarzenberg films
A cinematograph will be located in one part of the Museum, showing films from the beginning of 20th century made by the members of the Schwarzenberg line on several locations, for example on the nearby Červený Dvůr Castle. The films have until now been stored in the depositories of the Krumlov and Hluboká castles.
