In addition to being the patron saint of the lands of Bohemia, Saint Wenceslas is the patron saint of brewers and winemakers, which is commemorated by the traditional autumn festivities offering a cultural as well as a rich gourmet experience. The pleasant atmosphere of the autumn festivities is augmented by the festival of folk ensembles and the Saint Wenceslas Fair. The cherry on top is certainly the unforgettable evening excursion to the town’s museums and galleries, garnished with an impressive accompanying programme.

Czech rock music legend, singer, composer and keyboard performer has been active on the musical scene since mid 70´s. He has performed in bands Regenerace, Progres 2, Futurum, Stromboli and since 1990 he has participated in a number of musical projects: he has been cooperating with Bára Basiková, Michal Pavlíček, Raven, Marakana, Pavla Kapitánová, Leona Machálková and others. He has been playing the lead role in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar since spring 1996. In 2001 he has cooperated on the Apocalypse musical by the Bratří Karamazovi band from Český Krumlov.
The music performed by Dragoun can be likened to the styles emulated by Sting, Stevie Wonder or Phil Collins. This means a melodic music with elements of jazz, funky and rock accompanied by poetical lyrics with spiritual subtext whose authors are Roman´s father the painter František Roman Dragoun and the poet Milan Princ from Písek. This is a music for sensitive and receptive listeners of all generations. The music of Roman Dragoun resonates with faith, love and humility. Open your hearts since music can have a cleansing effect and stop the time for a while.

Chlapi v sobě (chlapi-v-sobe.webnode.cz) is a new band from Český Krumlov. It combines experienced musicians with youthful energy and talent. Genius loci of this magical place has attracted a group of diverse musicians differing in age, musical opinion and experience and produced a stream of new musical energy and experiences.
On the occasion of the 13th St. Wenceslas Celebrations Chlapi v sobě have prepared a unique evening concert. Following lengthy rehearsals they will perform together on stage with the successful local children’s singing choir Mevíďata managed by Mr. Lukáš Holec. Medvíďata choir will celebrate 20th birthday next year and they have been enjoying considerable success abroad lately.
During the evening they will perform many greatest hits of the Czechoslovak rock and pop music scene with the occasional trip into international waters with a new setting for a band and a singing choir. There will be songs by Petr Muk, David Koller, Michal Hrůza, Petr Kalandra, Tomáš Klus, Vladimír Mišík and others.
Come enjoy this pleasant evening full of well-know melodies, energy and joy. We trust you will have a great time with us!

• THE CAVE OF DOBRKOVICE – IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE MAMMOTH HUNTERS
Visit this pre-historic location and inspect the findings, witness demonstrations of flint blade carving and setting a fire with pre-historic techniques. You can also visit the pre-historic shooting ground.

Tour of this mining artifact under the historical town centre. Maximum capacity per tour is 7 persons of over 15 years of age. Entry from P2 parking place – Pod poštou Street. A fairytale interpretation of the St. Wenceslas legend; a poetic musical story with a fairytale twist followed by the arrival of St. Wenceslas calling his soldiers to arms. Attending children will become the soldiers; they will be knighted by Wenceslas and join him in a quest to defeat their evil enemy represented by a dragon. The jointly defeat this evil and follow St. Wenceslas. Take your swords or come make your own on Friday 26 September from 10 am at the Pansofie on Svornosti Square 15. Prepared by the Pansofie cultural and educational centre with the parents and children.
